Vincent Picard was born in 1972 in Sorel, Quebec. He actually works in Montreal where he owns a workshop. Vincent has got a diploma in welding as well as a certificate in assembling, but is a self-taught sculptor.
Through professional experience, whether related to arts or not, he showed aptitudes and interest for materials such as metals, glass and fiberglass, exotic wood essences, epoxy, wax, plastic and rubber. Vincent particularly loves the lost-wax technique for casting and he uses it often for sculpting. He has also explored the hot patina on non-ferrous metals technique.
Vincent Picard takes part in miniature art exhibitions; one of his works was selected by the International Biennial of Miniature Art in Ville-Marie, Abitibi, for exhibition at the Musée de la Miniature de Montélimar (Montelimar Museum of Miniature Art) in France and at the Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art (2006-2007).
Sculpting projects are not limited to miniature art; Vincent also creates full size sculptures.
